(not so) #SexySnippets where Maisie wonder's if it is a wind up

Image
Hello again. I've finished my WIP with those two magic words, 'The End' and as ever I have this idea niggling me. It's about Maisie, who is a secondary character in my last two books. what do you think? (Maisie is a teacher in a London primary school.)     It was one of those surreal moments when you begin to doubt your sanity. Maisie stared at the form she’d just taken out of a very official looking envelope, blinked, and stared again. Had she applied and not realised it, or was it a wind up ad a semi clad bloke was hiding behind her front door to shout gotcha? There, in black and white the form was headed, “Application for head teacher at the combined Brindish Primary School.” She hadn’t applied for any position, especially not out with her beloved London and in the wilds of Devon, even if her best friend now lived there. The phone range and she clicked on reply to hear said best friend’s voice. ‘Did you get it have you filled it in and ...

It's the time of the week to do some sentence sharing... As I've just come back from the area of Devon, in England where my Cliff Cottage books are set, I thought I'd go back to New Beginnings for Bryony Bennett for today's seven sentences. ( available from Amazon  here  ) Blurb... When Bryony Bennett’s godmother dies and leaves her a huge inheritance, Bryony jumps at the chance to get away from it all and start again. She packs up her life and moves into the (almost) idyllic Cliff Cottage…only to find that starting over is never quite as simple as you imagine. Faced with grumpy neighbours, hostile locals and more than her fair share of disasters, Bryony embarks on a mission to make sure her new life is everything she wants it to be…but will she ever win over the locals and truly be happy in her new life? ‘I’m here.’ Her voice was loud in the silence. The only noise was the ticking of the engine as it cooled, and the...

(almost) #SexySnippets where Lottie romanticises ghosts and Gibb wonders...

Image
It's me again with my (almost) #SexySnippets Where Gibb wonders about ghosts... 'According to local legend, Molly Lister was an eighteenth century smuggler’s friend and her house is said to have very interesting cellars and storerooms. Like all good smuggling stories, there are supposed to be tunnels. Some are said to go to the village church of course, one to the local manor, and lots of tracks through the copse and along hedgerows to various farmer’s barns and so on. Plus of course, little creeks and hidden moorings. Full of history.’ ‘Any ghosts?’ Lottie grinned. ‘Not that I know of but I could make one or two up if you want.  Rattling chains and  spectres running across the lawn and into the river. (Sort of ) #SexySnippets. Where Lottie muses over what makes a man hot and what does not

Image
Hi All, This is my not so #SexySnippets I guess. But I hope you enjoy it never the less. Lottie, who you met in New Beginnings for Bryony Bennett, (or you can meet  here  ) is the heroine of her own book. (well she will be when I've finished it 😉 Her life has been turned upside down, and boy does she have a steep learning curve. As a way to try and sleep it had to be better than counting sleep, Lottie thought. Itemise what traits a hot bod should have and what he shouldn't. So, she mused with an inward giggle, a nice bum, good smile, clean hair and nails were a must. As was a pleasant attitude, a cheeky, but not leery grin, and manners not befitting a pig. As for not have, the opposite of everything he should, so no smarm, a la 'call me Dave', no muck under his fingernails—unless he was doing something manual, she decided—and no pot belly, over long nasal hair, and mardy or sulky moans and gripes like Dear Donald. In fact as far away from her ex...

Well, it's a bit of a turn up for the books (well, Lottie's book) just how things are going... So I might as well tease you from there Lottie, Gibb, and the others are discussing vices after Maddie and Dex's twins cussed... ‘My vice is dark denim, classic Magnum ice creams and green fruit pastilles,’ Gibb said. ‘Oh and a mystery lady with a deep, dark velvet voice, violet eyes, and an attitude to make you think about...’ He glanced at the adults and coughed. ‘Boring compared to yours Lottie. And my sister is ten years older than me, and as staid as they come. No vices for Miss Prim and Proper.   Your younger years sound much more fun to be part of.’ Catch all the other #SexySnippets  here ( If you'd like to know more about Lottie you can discover her in New Beginnings for Bryony Bennett  here Happy reading and have a great week, until we meet again Katy xx

#SexySnippets, where Lottie wonders if she dare...

Image
Hi All, as I'm working on Lottie's story—who you met in to New Beginnings for Bryony Bennett—I thought I'd do a tease from there. It's not a follow up, and both stories are independent stand alones but if you've read Bryony (and if you haven't it's on Amazon) you'll know Lottie... wink Set in glorious Devon, Lottie's life has turned on its head. Can she cope? ~~~  Perhaps she could s et up an extra area of the shop? Of course it would mean the village knowing what she was selling, and pawing over her Jimmy Choos and spare Mulberry, but she’d have to suck that up. If she could get a percentage of the sale price then that would be a nice little boost to her income. Her mind raced ahead. If Maddie agreed.   If anyone bought anything. The villagers might not, but perhaps the tourists might? ~~~~~ Catch the other #SexySnippets here Have a great week, love Katy xx
